Located in Region VII and called Nuevo Oriente according to the ANACAFE classification, Finca Midgard is a farm dedicated to produce specialty coffee, with soils rich in minerals due to its volcanic origin. Many farms in the Nuevo Oriente region are between 1300 and 1700 MASL, producing a full-bodied coffee with a balanced and chocolatey flavor.

Finca Midgard is located in La Unión, Zacapa in a beautiful area of the Sierra del Merendón, with a lot of water sources such as springs and creeks, fertile soils and virgin nature. It has an average annual temperature of 22 Celsius degrees and a massive forest coverage, being home to our national bird, El Quetzal (Pharomachrus moccino).

Finca Midgard is a commercial and productive alliance between Guatemala, Norway and Sweden, in order to export Guatemalan specialty coffee to the world and with a direct commercial presence in the Scandinavian region.

The farm dedicates to produce specialty coffee with very interesting cup profiles. In our wet mill we use ecological pulpers (without the use of water) to minimize the ecological impact and a high percentage of our harvest goes to a honey process, thus also reducing the use of water during processing. The varietals we work with include Red Catuai, Sarchimor, Geisha, Castillo, Catimor and Anacafé 14. We focus on quality during all stages of production, with detailed attention to the cherry´s ripeness level, processing on the wet mill, fermentation processes and drying on raised beds. Special processes such as Honey and Natural have produced cups of excellent quality.

Since its foundation, Finca Midgard has worked with total respect for nature, reforesting the areas that have needed it and generating employment for the people of the village of El Chichipate.
